Unusual All Curved Teak Miniature Chest

1900 - 1920
Description

Very unusual all curved 4 drawer miniature teak chest or cabinet. Four drawers, all dovetailed together with pine lining and original brass drop handles. The piece is in very good original, untouched condition and is a nice colour.

The chest comes with a letter of provenance stating "This chest of drawers was made during the first world war in an army camp at Dunfermline. The wood came from the wings of an Argyle Shooting Brake belonging to the last Mr W. A. Dewhurst of Summerhill, Stanley, Perthshire who died in 1948. The car was bought in Manchester at the Goiton Works around 1909 / 10. Signed Louis A Drummond."
