Regency Satinwood and Brass Inlaid Chiffonier in Style of William Trotter

19th century
Description

Circa 1815, Regency satinwood and brass inlaid chiffonier in the style of William Trotter of Edinburgh. The top features a three quarter wrap around gallery with open fretwork and 3 shelves with pleated panels in silk and brass buttons behind them. The gables have Chinese Chippendale style open brass fretwork and the base has a classic Scottish beading. Beneath the top are two narrow drawers with sunken beading similar to Trotter’s designs and beneath are doors with reeded, brass beading. Either side are pilasters leading on to tapering back legs and unusual front legs which are reeded, with a slight kick towards the foot.
