It was listed by Driscolls Antiques Ltd . Sold pieces stay on Sellingantiques as a record of what has passed through, and the next one is rarely far away.
Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the Regency era.
Of magnificent quality and evidently the work of a true craftsman, quite possibly a piece by Gillows of Lancaster, this stunning chiffonier has an upper tier with brass gallery and half round reeded edge with beautifully turned column supports and figured top.
The sides have beautifully turned columns and this marvellous piece stands on elegant bun feet with super brass decoration. The mahogany has aged to a rich shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
