George I Solid Walnut Chest of Drawers

Description

FINE early 18th century George I solid walnut chest of drawers of great proportions and fabulous colour. The chest is a very early design with stile type feet. Two over three drawers, the drawers with moulded edges and oak linings. The drawers retain their original iron locks but most impressively their original brass penny drop handles and escution plates. The top has a lovely feature of shaping at the corners and is beautifully grained.

The chest has had a couple of minor repairs over the years mainly to the bottom moulding but basically for being over 300 years old it is pretty good. The colour and patination are both superb with waxed finish.
