Carse Antiques has dated this piece to the 18th Century.
(originally the chest has had penny drop handles). The drawers with cock beading round the edges, the top with quarter round mouldings to the edges. The top folds over from the back and is supported by lopers that pull out either side of the top drawers.

Apart from the handles the chest is in good original condition with waxed finish.
This is a proper Batchelors chest rather than just a chest with a slide.
