Regency Mahogany Chest of Drawers C1800 with Interesting Feature Wdb210/27.7

Description

This is a lovely antique regency mahogany chest of drawers and dating from aorund 1800. It has a rouned edge to the top with two short drawers above three long graduating drawers all of which are oak lined and with original brass handles. It stands on splayed bracket feet joined by a shaped frieze with inlaid ebony stringing.

This lovely chest has an unusual and interesting addition! Long ago a previous owner had lined the drawers with pages from 'the london illustrated news' dated 1859 with stories and drawings and photographs of the time from bow bells to nelsons column and an interesting view of the globe with lots of interesting reading and anecdotes. All of the pages are in good condition and very readable. However they have been glued down and it would be quite easy to remove them if you so wished. I have not got enough space here for all the photographs of the drawers so should you like to see more then please email US.

The chest itself is in very good original condition with a lovely patination and colour to the mahogany it measures: 41" high X 19" deep X 42" wide
