A superb Victorian pollard oak sideboard/dresser of outstanding quality. A rich and strong golden colour and in superb original condition. The base has two cupboards, one with a cellarette the other a shelf, both have wonderful carved mythological figures carved upon them. To the centre are two drawers which still retain their fantastic oxydised brass handles, which are cast in the manner of fern leaves. All the front section projects slightly forwards which allows for beautiful reeded and fluted apron. The mirrored top has a pair of supports to a top shelf with carved and shaped wings to the sides. To the rear of the top is a label for Gullachsen House furnisher Newcastle-on-Tyne.
