An early 18th century oak chest on stand from the Queen Anne period. In overall good original condition with signs of long deceased woodworm in the feet and on the top boards (retreated by us as a precaution). Some of the stretchers could have been replaced probably 100 years ago, but old oak was used and it is now difficult to be sure. This piece is an early survivor that still retains its original brass handles and escutcheons that have split pin fixings inside the drawers. A small chest on stand by usual standards and was probably made for a certain spot. Cleaned and wax polished, ready to use and enjoy.
