Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
They have a rectangular moulded top with rounded corners above an unusual drawer configuration consisting of a double central hat drawer flanked by four small drawers above three graduating drawers with turned handles. This splendid chest stands on a moulded plinth with small turned bun feet. The mahogany has aged to a mellow shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and have been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
