Description

An early 19th century mahogany and satinwood banded bow front chest of drawers.

This chest consists of a nicely figured veneered mahogany top with ebony & boxwood stringing, satinwood cross banding and ebony & boxwood stringing to the edge.

This leads down to the drawers, of two over three configuration, the drawer fronts veneered in figured mahogany with ebony and boxwood stringing and satinwood cross banding. Each drawer having an oval brass handle with acorn and oak leaf decoration with oval brass escutcheons.

The chest has rope twist carved column decoration to either side of the drawers, the sides having figured mahogany veneer and the chest supported by four turned feet.

This chest of drawers is in very good condition for age with evidence of some old repairs, is of stable construction and can go straight into a home.
