A very elegant Georgian mahogany chest of drawers.
George III c1760.
A good sized chest, being of small/medium proportions. Also of excellent quality, having two short drawers over three long graduating drawers. The drawers are oak lined and retain the original blue paper lining. Elegant original swan-neck brass handles.
Lovely figuring to the mahogany, with a good rich colour and patina.
Lovely scroll ends to the bracket feet.
With the original key which locks the three long drawers.
Original backboards.
Minor shrinkage to one side, historically restored, visible in the pictures, again minor and expected for the age of the chest.
Very solid sturdy and strong.
