Very Fine Regency Serving or Hall Table

Description

A wonderfully impressive and superb quality early 19th century mahogany SIDEBOARD or SERVING TABLE.

Almost certainly by either Gillows of Lancaster or Trotter (of Edinburgh) this thoroughly original piece features a shaped backboard inlaid with ebony stringing; a one-piece top of excellent figuring and patina whilst it is supported on beautifully carved 'Classical' legs which terminate in good carved scroll feet. The frieze features a long bow-fronted central drawer, flanked by twin small drawers, both of which are lined in burgundy baize.
