Regency Brass-inlaid Rosewood Chiffonier

Description

A handsome and fine quality Regency period rosewood CHIFFONIER or SIDEBOARD inlaid throughout with brass.

The useful upper shelf retains its original brass gallery and is supported on gilt brass columns and "X" framed supports. Below the frieze, which is profusely inlaid with brass scrollwork, and between brass-inlaid 'stiles' are two doors, both fitted with elliptical brass grills and silk-pleated panels.

These doors open to reveal adjustable shelves within, and it is supported on particularly good gilded cast-brass compressed bun feet. 40.5ins wide; 15.5ins deep; 39.5ins high (to "work" surface; 51ins high overall.
