Welsh Mahogany Tallboy Chest-on-chest, Circa 1800

Description

Mahogany chest-on-chest, or tallboy, of small proportions. The upper section has a bold cornice with broken-dentil embellishment, above a pair of small cock-beaded drawers and three large graduated drawers; over a base section with three graduated drawers raised on bracket feet.

Carmarthenshire, west Wales, circa 1800.

(Replaced handles, some replacements to feet and small patches the strips between the drawers).

Width across base: 40.75 inches; 103.5 cms. Across cornice: 43 inches; 109 cms

Depth across base; 21 inches; 53 cms. Across cornice: 22.25 inches; 57 cms.
