Description

A most attractive Victorian chest of drawers in mahogany, rare for having a width of only 31” (785mm) across the carcass. The rectangular moulded-edge overhanging top sits over an arrangement of graduated cockbeaded solid-mahogany-lined drawers with their original turned knob handles. There is a simple plinth base support, and the backing boards are original. Presented in top condition with smooth sliding drawers, well figured timbers, and a good colour, this beautiful example is English, dating from c.1850 – c.1875.
