Carse Antiques has dated this piece to the Georgian era.
The drawers and cupboard doors all have a boxwood line round the edge. The curved aprons under the middle drawer are inlaid with a beautiful shape shell.

The top is veneered with a beautiful flame veneer with a boxwood and ebony line inlay about 1" in. The edge of the top has a boxwood line top and bottom and a matching ebony and boxwood line through the middle.

The drawers are mahogany lined, the handles are later Edwardian replacements.
The whole piece is a gorgeous faded colour all over. There are some minor shakes to the veneer on the top which have been filled at some time but these do not detract from the piece at all, in fact you have to look hard to find them.
Demi-lune shaped sideboards are not common at all and this example is particularly nice.
SIZE; 6 foot wide by 34" deep in the centre. 34 1/2" to the top. 54" high including the gallery.
