Chest of Drawers Small George II Walnut Chest on Chest Original Brasses C1730

Here we have a truly exceptional George II English Walnut chest on chest c1730. As you will see the chest on chest has wonderful colour and patina. This outstanding piece is as original as it gets. Firstly the rare original brasses deserve a special mention as so many have lost there's but as you can see these are original, patinated and proportionally perfect. The proportions of the whole piece are also worth mentioning as it stands only 69 inches high 39 wide and 21 deep. This in itself makes for a diminutive piece of this date and period. The top has a wonderful pediment leading to stunning cantered and reeded corners. There are matched veneers of super grain and colour on each drawer. The drawer fronts have a thin inlaid band and a further crossbanded edge on an ovolo lip moulding which covers the carcass edge. The drawer linings as you would expect are solid Oak as is the main carcass. The chest sits on the original bracket feet. A truly breathtaking chest on chest in fantastic retail condition ready for your home.
