Mellow Mahogany George III Antique Chest on Chest

This Beautiful Mellow Mahogany George III Antique Chest on Chest dates from around 1770 and is an extremely desirable piece of antique furniture. It has a moulded cornice with dental moulding above a deep frieze with a spectacular shell inlaid centre. The two over six graduating drawers have moulded edges, brass swan neck handles and a key with several working locks that provide adequate storage. This super chest on chest has a beautifully figured front, canted corners and spectacular inlays. It stands on shaped bracket feet and splits into two sections for easy removal and is full of the charm and character of a true antique, it also benefits from later backboards. The mahogany has aged to a warm mellow shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
