Small Georgian Scottish Mahogany Chiffonier. C. 1825

19th century
Description

Very nice small size Georgian Scottish mahogany chiffonier in the style of William Trotter of Edinburgh. This lovely wee chiffonier has a pair of cupboard doors with three drawers above and a shelf above the top at the back.

The whole piece has typical Scottish type quarter turned moulded decoration throughout and ring turned short legs. The drawers have an ebony line round the edge and have both their original locks and original brass handles. The centre drawer also has a leather topped writing slope inside.

The back shelf has nicely turned mahogany supports and the edge of the shelf has a complex pattern inlaid ebony line.

The piece is a nice colour and has a waxed finish.
