Rare Antique Chestnut Chest of Drawers by Ambrose Heal.

Description

Rare Antique Chestnut Chest of Drawers by Ambrose Heal. This is a beautifully made, antique chest by Ambrose Heal in 1905. The original sketch of the chest by Ambrose Heal is listed in the design book. In superb, clean condition, made in solid sweet Spanish chestnut, with four tapering drawers, each having a moulded step, all have the original locks stamped by Heals & Sons. Each drawer has two of the lovely, recessed 'squashed heart' handles. The drawers all have hand cut dovetails and run very smoothly. You can see exposed dovetail decorations along the top edge of the chest and the backboards are slatted oak. A very beautiful, rarely seen, antique chestnut chest of drawers by Ambrose Heal. We have a matching double wardrobe.
