Stunning George III Demi-lume Sideboard

19th century
Description

Here we have a stunning late 18th / early 19th century demi-lume or bow-fronted George III mahogany and inlaid sideboard of large proportions. The piece has been made from the very best of timbers with ebony and boxwood line inlay throughout.

Square tapered legs with original spade feet. The top with boxwood and ebony stringing and a wide cross banding. The very nice original brass rail to the back.

The drawers are oak lined and have contempory but not original brass knobs. The right hand side drawer is especially unusual as can be seen in the pictures.

The condition of this piece is very good having its original finish that has been sympathetically restored.

Even though it is a big piece, because of its airy design it does not look big.

SIZES; 100" long by 37" wide at the widest point in the centre. 37" high to the top.

Declaration

Carse Antiques has dated this piece to the 1800s.

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.
