A Wonderful Military Campaign Chest of Drawers

A truly wonderful example of a mid-19th century military chest in mahogany. This top quality chest of drawers – sometimes referred to as a campaign chest – breaks into two parts, top and bottom. The drawers are lined in solid mahogany throughout, and have flush-fitting handles with shaped gilt-brass backplates – all of which are original. It sits on elegant turned mahogany feet and there is a key to the original lock of the top full-width drawer. It has the most stunning colour and patination imaginable; an original finish with a rich, warm glow. This beautiful chest of drawers – one of the best we've seen in years – is English, and it dates from c.1850s.
