Impressionist style oil by the French artist depicting 'Piazza San Marco' , the Grand Canal, and the church of 'Santa Maria della Salute' beyond. A view captured by the artist from the roof terrace of the exclusive hotel "Danieli Excelsior" , with the distinctive ridged terracotta tiles of the 'Prigioni' in the fore-ground and the stuccoed wall of the 'Doges Palace' ; onward to the bustling quay, moored gondolas and 'Piazzetta San Marco' with the Column of St.Mark atopped by the winged Venetian Lion of St.Mark at its entrance.

A well-composed picture capturing the Mediterranean light, magical spectacle and architectural beauty of "La Serenissima".
