A Superb Quality George III Mahogany Chest on Chest

A superb quality late 18th century George III mahogany chest on chest or tallboy of good patina (colour).

This piece consists of a mahogany highly decorative cornice of arcaded and turned drop design leading down to the top section of the chest with two short over three long drawers.

The drawers consist of cockbeaded solid mahogany draw fronts with oak linings, original brass handles and bone diamond shaped escutcheons with fluted and cantered corners.

The base section has three long drawers, identical to those at the top.

The sides consist of solid well figured mahogany panels and lead down to four splay feet of elegant design supported by a shaped apron.

The back is pine and all of the drawers have been lined with Laura Ashley floral paper.

The chest on chest is in superb condition for age and can go straight into a home.
