Welsh oak dresser of an early date and with a very unusual base which has the rare combination of both inlaid and fretted decoration.
The open rack has a slim and early type of cornice above three shelves and a raised lower shelf incorporating a central spice drawer, over a base with three drawers above an intricate lattice fretted panel surrounded by bands of inlay, raised on boldly turned front legs united by a potboard.
Excellent colour and untouched surface finish.
(The potboard and supporting frame has been replaced, using 18th century oak, by a museum conservator).
Carmarthenshire circa 1750
57 inches wide (to cornice),
15 inches deep,
83 inched high
