English late 19th century-c1870-1890.
Profusely carved in Elizabethan & Renaissance inspired designs.

The sideboard has twin pedestals, with the most wonderful carvings to the door fronts. Each door has a female Caryatid with the male Atlantes to the opposing side. To the centre of each door is a cartouche with an abundance of fruit clusters, which are carved in glorious, bold, full relief.

Above each door is carved, scrolling foliage, flanked by carved mask and Green Man motifs, incorporating three drawers, including one to the centre.
The doors open to reveal, firstly to the left side, a set of three oak slides. The right side houses a single shelved interior.

The up-stand is adorned with panels of ribbon topped, fruit garlands, flanked by growling Lions, bearing teeth. The cresting is very bold and elaborate. With elegant finials to each end post.
The colour of the oak is rich and warm with an excellent patina.

An amazing, very imposing Victorian sideboard, showing the best of Victorian craftsmanship.
Very solid, sturdy and strong, completely constructed from solid oak.
The up-stand /superstructure, could be removed if preferred.

Overall excellent condition, with minor signs of use.
