Great Size George I Walnut Chest on Chest. C. 1725

Description

FINE small size George I figured walnut chest on chest in very good original condition. Nicely grained walnut veneered drawer fronts with feather banding and original engraved brass handles and original small steel locks. The drawers all being oak lined.

Nice shape cross grain cornice and moulds to the middle and base with original high bracket feet.

The ends veneered in walnut with wide cross banding to the back and front edges. Some age cracking to the veneers but nothing too serious.

It is not common to find these early pieces of walnut with both the original feet and the original brasses.

Gorgeous colour throughout and a great size.

SIZES; 39" wide by 21" deep by 69 1/2" high
