A truly exceptional piece of English cabinetmaking; a wonderful example of a mahogany chest of drawers by the highly respected manufacturers/retailers Heal & Son of London. This beautiful chest – rare for being only 24” (610mm) wide – consists of a moulded-edge top over a bank of six gently graduated solid mahogany-lined drawers all of which retain their original turned knob handles. It is supported on a plain plinth base, and it has its original backing boards. Small and desirable, these chests of drawers rarely come on to the market. It is English, dating from c.1875, and there is a single key that works all six drawers.
