Description

This is a stunning 18th Century walnut chest of drawers with a lovely golden colour, dating from the reign of George II, circa 1740. The chest has a really practical layout with three short drawers across the top above three long drawers beneath. The drawers are all solid oak lined and are in good order and glide smoothly in the chest. They have attractive later brass tear drop handles and brass escutcheons. The chest is raised on its original elegant bracket feet. There are some historic replacements to the walnut veneer as one would expect but well done and in keeping. The chest is in remarkable order bearing in mind its age and is a very practical size, measuring 98cm high, wide and 54cm deep.
