Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1800s.
It has a moulded cornice above two over six oak lined drawers with delightful brass swan neck handles. This great chest on chest stands on shaped bracket feet and splits into two pieces for easy removal. This is a genuine piece of antique furniture which has the charm and character one would expect, although the back boards are later which is not surprising being over 200 years old. The oak has aged to a warm medium shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
