Late George III Mahogany Bow Front Chest of Drawers

Description

Circa 1800, late George III mahogany and inlaid bowfronted chest of drawers. The lovely flame mahogany top has a crossbanded edge of rosewood, boxwood and chequered inlay. Beneath this is a combination of two short over three graduating drawers with string inlay on the fore edge and diamond satinwood escutcheons. There are cast brass oval handles (not original). Beneath the bottom drawer is a small simple apron with satinwood crossbanding. Standing on elegant French splayed feet. Good size, mellow colour.

Size 91cm high x 112cm wide x 60cm deep.
