Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1860s.
All are oak lined, cock beaded with beautifully figured fronts and later turned handles. The drawers are flanked by unusual moulded sides, with unusual circular motifs and the piece stands on beautiful turned bun feet. This fine antique chest, has the usual old repairs consistent with age and use, giving great character and authenticity. The mahogany is a rich medium shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
