A charming little mahogany chest of drawers from the Victorian era. The moulded-edge top sits above an arrangement of graduated drawers – all of which are lined in solid mahogany – having their original turned knob handles. There is a simple plinth base support and the original backing boards. The top has an overhanging back to bridge the gap created by a skirting board. Well selected timbers with a totally untouched finish having a rich, warm colour and a glowing patination. This beautiful chest of drawers – measuring only 34.5” (875mm) across the carcass – is English, c.1870s.There is a working key to the top full-width drawer.
