Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1800s.
It has a moulded cornice above two over six oak lined drawers. All are cock beaded and have strikingly figured flamed mahogany fronts with oval brass handles. It stands elegantly on splayed bracket feet and oozes a sense of quality. Bow fronted chests on chests are very desirable due to the level of craftsmanship required to create such a design on such a large scale so it is with great pleasure we are able to offer this particular piece for sale. It splits into two sections for ease of removal and the mahogany is a very attractive rich warm shade. It has a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
