The front of the chest and sides are constructed from the best quality mahogany. The chest consists of two halves. The top chest is smaller than the base chest and consists of two over three drawers. The bottom section consists of three drawers. The top chest boasts lovely reeded chamfered corners. The chest is completely original. There are 8 working cock-beaded drawers all featuring the original working locks & key. The chest also has its original brass swan neck handles and escutcheons, which is rare to see. It has the original pine backboards, original oak drawer linings and hand dovetailed drawer construction, original dentil cornice and blind fretwork panels above a moulded frieze. The chest also boasts stunning quality Chippendale influenced shaped. The whole of the chest stands on its original bracket feet. The top and bottom are completely original. This is an ideal item for the bedroom or landing for storing clothes.

The chest boasts a rich warm red and brown mahogany colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination; this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

Condition Report:
The chest is completely original and is in excellent condition. Some nominal old use marks to the leading edges. All eight drawers feature the original brass swan neck handles, escutcheons. The drawers retain their original working locks and there is a working key. This chest boasts its original polish, which ensures a fantastic depth of colour to the mahogany. The chest is solid in joint, does not wobble and is free of woodworm.
