Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1750s.
It has a rectangular moulded top, which is beautifully cross banded with mahogany, and sits above a two over three graduating drawer configuration. The drawers are cock beaded and still retain the original swan neck brass handles. The front side edges of the piece display a quarter column reeded decoration, iconic Lancashire styling, and it stands on robust shaped bracket feet. The oak is a lovely warm medium shade with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
