Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1800s.
It has a rectangular moulded top above three small flamed mahogany drawers with turned ebonised handles. These sit above a two over three drawer configuration all being cock beaded and having ebonised turned handles, the drawers are also partially oak lined. The chest is framed with unusual moulded sides with a decorative inlay feature and stands neatly on turned bun feet. This substantial piece of antiquity has aged to a lovely warm dark shade of oak with a striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
