This superb very large chest is made of Mahogany in a wonderful typical "Scottish" design.
Below are four long graduating drawers. With charming decorative carved supports to each side.

With superior quality flame Mahoagny which is exceptional. The colour of the wood is truly out-standing, rich and warm with a beautiful striking grain.
Each drawer has the original brass escutcheons and locks, with elegant turned bun handles, with Mother-Of-Pearl to each centre. Each drawer is oak-lined, showing the quality of the chest. All drawers are very sturdy and open smoothly.

Standing on large flattened bun-feet.
A wonderful very impressive and imposing statement piece of furniture.
In good original condition, with general expected signs of age and use. Some minor knocks and bumps. A very small historical repair to a veneer, very tiny. All signs of use, commensurate with age.

The chest seperates into two pieces, the top lifts of the lower large deep drawer to the base.
Very solid sturdy and strong.
Freshly bees-waxed and polished.
