Driscolls Antiques Ltd has dated this piece to the 1800s.
It has a beautifully figured top with a glass like feel, reeded edge and inlaid banding. The two over three drawers are all mahogany lined, cock beaded and have quality period brass lion head handles. This stylish Regency piece stands on typical splayed feet and still owns its original back boards. This antique chest of drawers is a quality example of furniture from the period, it does have some minor old repairs however the workmanship evident in them show they have been undertaken by a true craftsman and in no way detract from the beauty of the chest, only add to its character. It is a lovely rich warm shade of mahogany with a glass like feel, striking grain, good patina, is in very good condition and has been beautifully cleaned using a traditional form of wax finishing.
