The top of this dresser is constructed from a single piece of oak and this is extremely rare to see; this is a sign of very good quality. The dresser base consists of three working hand dovetailed drawers which feature brass escutcheons and brass swan neck handles. The cushion fronted drawers features a moulded edge design. The moulded edge design is repeated on the freize and apron. The dresser features the original working locks to the two outer drawers and what we believe to be the original key. The dresser frame is constructed using the traditional pegged construction method. The drawers are pine lined with the original backboards and the dresser sits on simple but elegant straight legs.

The Welsh Marches is a term which denotes an imprecisely defined area along and around the border between England and Wales in the United Kingdom.
Condition Report:
The item is in excellent condition and is commensurate with its age. The dresser has a fantastic colour and figuration to the timer. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The locks to the two outer drawers work (the central drawer does not lock) and there is also a working key. The brass swan neck handles and escutcheons are very old replacements. There are no splits to the top or sides of this dresser which rare to see. Free of active wood worm, solid in joint and ready to use.
