George III Mahogany Chest on Chest

Description

Circa 1760, George III mahogany chest on chest, after a design by Thomas Chippendale. The neat sized chest on chest has a classic Greek key cornice and canted corners with blind fretwork carving on the top. There are 3 short over 6 graduating drawers with cock beaded edges, swan neck handles and cast brass escutcheons. The liners, back and base of the drawers are oak. The bottom section starts with a double moulded edge, and the chest stands on stylish bracket feet. Classic example of a chest of the period.

Size 181cm high x 113cm wide x 60cm deep.

Most items include delivery anywhere in the UK mainland.
