A Good Geo III Cuban Mahogany Chest

Description

A good Geo III mahogany chest circa 1785. Very fine choice of top quality cuban mahogany timber of an excellent rich colour and good grain. Original brass swan neck handles (showing useage impressions on the drawer fronts under them). Iron locks and brass oval escutcheons. The feet original and worn down slightly over the years. Oak lined drawers. Thumbnail moulding to the top.The sides and top are not cracked and the back is original.

Chests such as this are increasingly difficult to find and are not only practical but impressive because of their construction quality and colour.

102 cm wide by 54 deep by 98cm high.
