Description

A small early 19thc oak mahogany and beech 4 drawer press chest (some would call it a book press). The 2nd drawer stamped BULSTRODE 50 Paddington Street Marylebone. Bulstrode appears in the Dictionary of English furniture Makers page 128.

A good colour and in completely original condition this is a practical but decoratively pleasing piece. The upper screw down press is in working condition and has a lovely patina the framework being topped by a turned finial. The drawers have original small knobs and all have their original locks. The whole is carried upon toupee feet.

27 inches wide by 61 max high (35 to the top of the top drawer) 15 1/2 inches deep.
