Early 18th century chest of draws of good colour and patina made in solid cuban mahogany of the finest quality. With contrasting cross banded top and inverted corners. The top is made from one piece of solid mahogany and is remarkably flat as is typical of early imported mahogany as is dose not seem to warp or twist over time like many native woods. Mahogany
used at this period was much heavier than later in the century and the chest reflects this in its weight.
