Elmgarden has dated this piece to the Victorian era.
The buffet is similar to a court cupboard and has a counter top with a carved edge and a highly carved gallery on the back, beneath there are two drawers which have heavily carved fronts matching the faces on either side.
The top section stands on carved and turned bulbous supports above a shelved 2 door cupboard, the cupboard doors each have a carved panel with a lions mask and the carved theme is carried down the front and on each side, the front columns are carved with acanthus leaves mythical fruits and green man faces and it stands on carved bun feet
This is a large piece of Green Man Oak, but it comes into 2 for transport, it is in good condition though there is some chipping to the carving on the door front otherwise only a few age related stains on the counter top
The buffet stands 55” high , 54” wide and it is 20” deep
