ActFurniture LTD has dated this Georgian Oak Settle Bench to the Georgian era.
This is an independent date report produced by Sellingantiques using its own proprietary system. The process uses the photographs shown on this page. The system is never told the date the dealer has declared. This report shows that the two dates corroborate.
It has shaped open arms with scrolled hand rests on square supports, and stands on square tapering legs, the front legs ending in neat pad feet, with traditional pegged mortise and tenon joints throughout.
The oak displays a lovely figured grain with medullary ray flashes to the panels, and a deep, rich colour with a wonderful mellow patina built up over many years.
Presented in good condition commensurate with age, with the natural splits, marks and wear expected of a country piece of this age. A very desirable Georgian oak settle, a perfect addition to any hallway, kitchen, dining room or boot room.
