Description

This ornately carved oak hall seat is offered in very good condition.

The bench has an ornately carved back and base with turned oak columns supporting the arms.

The seat lifts up to offer great storage, a lovely piece for any hallway or boot room.

The seat has a few small superficial scratches that are hardly noticeable, we could sand an repolish the seat if requested but it may lose some of its charm, especially if you plan to put an upholstered cushion on it.

This French Provincial hall seat belongs to the 1910 period and is constructed from dark brown oak. The high backrest and lower coffer base display intricate foliate scrollwork relief carving set within wooden panels, complemented by a carved frieze along the top cornice. Turned spindle columns support the arms on either side above a hinged seat that lifts to reveal a storage compartment inside. A few small superficial scratches appear on the seat surface. Measuring 152 cm high, 161 cm wide, and 51 cm deep, with a seat height of 47 cm, the piece sits directly on the floor. It fits naturally into a hallway or boot room to provide both seating and storage space for everyday items.
