We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

This Chinese low side table dates from around 1900 and follows a traditional Qing Dynasty style. Fashioned from dark brown rosewood and hardwood, the piece has a polished timber finish. The square floating panel top rests above a hand-carved openwork apron with intricate scroll motifs, while the straight legs are vertically grooved and feature block feet. Surface wear includes subtle signs of age and historic use visible across the timber grain. Measuring 41.5 cm wide by 41.5 cm deep and 51 cm high, the table provides a compact footprint for domestic settings. It suits placement as a lamp table, plant or vase stand, or as an end table beside a sofa in a living room, bedroom, or gentleman's library.

Late Qing Dynasty furniture is characterised by traditional frame-and-panel joinery, dark dense hardwoods such as rosewood or hongmu, and decorative carved aprons featuring stylized scrolling motifs.

Traditional Chinese cabinetmakers utilized complex mortise and tenon joinery without nails or glue, incorporating a floating central panel in the tabletop to allow timber expansion and contraction across seasons.

Authentic pieces feature dense hardwood with deep grain patterns, precise hand-cut joinery, natural wear around the feet and lower edges, and carved details displaying hand-tool marks.

A dark rosewood table serves as a grounding element when placed beside modern upholstered seating, in an entryway alcove displaying ceramics, or as a plant stand in a sunlit space.

Maintain the finish by dusting regularly with a dry microfibre cloth, keeping the item away from direct heat sources or strong sunlight, and applying a high-grade beeswax polish sparingly once or twice a year.
