This Georgian teacup and matching saucer set originates from around 1800, crafted from porcelain decorated with a glossy cobalt blue glaze and metallic gold leaf. The deep blue borders display gilded foliate scrollwork, framing detailed monochrome pastoral scene prints depicting figures in a landscape with trees and buildings. The cup includes a delicate rounded loop handle, finished with fine gilt trim along the rim and base. Measuring 14 cm high by 10.5 cm wide and 8 cm deep, the dimensions provide a classic domestic scale for display. Suitable for placement on a traditional sideboard top in a living room or dining area, the set serves as a decorative display piece or collector's item. The glaze retains a bright finish across both items, showing the contrast between the rich cobalt panels and the white ceramic body.

New Hall porcelain, produced in Staffordshire between 1781 and 1835, is renowned for pioneering hard-paste and hybrid hard-paste porcelain manufacture in England, frequently decorated with transfer prints, cobalt grounds, and gilding.

Georgian English porcelain typically combined china stone, kaolin, and bone ash, finished with underglaze cobalt mineral pigments, overglaze enamel transfer printing, and hand-applied gold leaf gilding.

Authentic Regency teacups often feature pattern numbers painted on the underside, minor hand-thrown body variations, translucent porcelain composition under light, and hand-gilded decoration over dark glazes.

Display individual cups and saucers in glass-fronted cabinets, on open shelving alongside minimalist ceramics, or atop a tray on a sideboard to add subtle historical character to a room.

Wash antique porcelain carefully by hand using lukewarm water and mild liquid soap, avoiding abrasive sponges, automated dishwashers, or prolonged immersion that could wear away gilded detailing.
