Antique 19th Century Salt Glazed Stoneware Flagon Bottle Jug – Wonderful Patina

Brief Description:

A wonderfully characterful antique 19th-century stoneware flagon Jug or bottle, of substantial ovoid form and displaying an exceptional time-worn surface and patina.

This attractive utilitarian vessel has a beautifully proportioned swollen body, rising from a pronounced circular foot to a short moulded neck with a slightly flared rim.

A substantial applied strap handle runs from the shoulder to the neck, giving the piece its distinctive early country-pottery appearance.

With an extensively mottled, weathered and textured surface which has developed tremendous decorative character through age and use.
